What is a DPO or IPO?

A Direct Public Offering (DPO) or Initial Public Offering (IPO) enables members of the public to purchase shares in a private company before it lists on the Stock Exchange. i.e. before it goes public. These shares are sold at a discounted price and offer the investor a good investment opportunity. A DPO is an offering of private stock direct to the public without the use of a broker, advisor or market maker. An IPO is offered for sale via a broker, advisor or market maker. How can I take part in a DPO?

Shares are made available direct to the public without the use of expensive nominated brokers.

What is a maximum order size for a DPO?

There is sometimes a limit to the maximum amount of shares that each investor may purchase.

The company will let you know that your order has been accepted immediately

Will I be charged commission?

You are never charged commission when buying shares in a DPO.

When do I pay for my DPO shares?

You will agree a settlement date with the company and you must pay before this date.

How do I pay for my DPO shares?

Usually via bank transfer from your bank direct to the company.

Will I get my full allocation?

It is usual to get your full allocation. .

When will I know how many shares I have purchased and how much I have paid for them?

The company will tell you how many shares have been allocated to you and at what price.

When can I trade my shares?

You can trade your shares as soon as they come to the market. i.e. when the company floats

How will I receive my shares?

You will receive your share certificates delivered to your home address via courier.
